Reflexology

Reflexology has been around for many thousand of years. There are tomb paintings dating from around 2330 BC of ancient Egyptians performing Reflexology on one another.

REFLEXOLOGY

Reflexology works on the principle that reflex areas in the feet and hands correspond to all of the glands, organs and parts of the body.  When we are healthy and all our parts are in perfect working order. Our glands, organs, nerves, chemicals, etc are working in harmony, our bodies are “balanced or fine tuned”. We call this balanced activity “Homeostasis”.

When one of these glands, organs etc become “out of balance” the entire running of the body is effected. We call this “Out of tune”.  This is when Reflexology is of benefit to you.  Using the thumb and finger technique on the reflex points in your hands or feet, you can tune the entire body back to homeostasis.  Using this technique I can feel and sometimes so can you feel, tender spots or crunchy bits. By stimulating the reflex points, the body can be “fine tuned”.

Reflexology has been around for many thousand of years. There are tomb paintings dating from around 2330 BC of ancient Egyptians performing Reflexology on one another.

The foot is best to work on as it is the most sensitive to touch and it closely resembles the outline of the body, however you can also use the hands.  If you split yourself in half from your head to the floor, working the reflexes on the right foot affects the entire right side of the body and the left foot affects the left side of the body.

After a reflex treatment you may suffer from various conditions e.g. Flu like symptoms, headaches, nausea, tiredness. These are all positive reactions, your body is healing itself, and there is no need for concern.  This could last up to 24hrs after the treatment.

I can never diagnose, prescribe or treat specific conditions.  However Reflexology is good for tension, anxiety, headaches, stress, eyestrain, and lots more. As in one treatment the body is taken and worked on as a whole.  Prevention is better than a cure.
