What is cellulite? It is the accumulation of fat cells which have become trapped in the collagen and elastin fibres, resulting in lumpy “orange peel” effect which is unattractive.  The average woman has more subcutaneous fat cells than the average man, these fat cells are most commonly located in the lower part of the body, and it is believed that female hormones are the main cause.  Other factors which may contribute to cellulite include too many rich foods, and excess of tobacco and alcohol and poor blood circulation, it may also be hereditary.  Whatever the actual cause is in individual suffers, the results are that fat cells become trapped, and locked up in the collagen and elastin fibres.  Circulation in that area is often slowed and the nerve endings may become compressed and tender.  Cellulite is in essence imprisoned fat, and cannot be eliminated by diet and exercise alone.   

What is Slim Gel and how does it work?  It is a concentrated gel that contains essential oils, seaweed, witch hazel, aloes and mineral salts.  It is formulated to achieve inch loss through intra-cellular drainage of the lymphatic system as a result of compression therapy. For example, if you squeeze a balloon together with some water in it, the water is forced up and flows freely. By wrapping the bandages with compression which forces the muscles together squeezing the fat cells and forcing the circulation and some cells through to the lymphatic system and then deposited as waste.  It does not involve fluid loss by perspiration and the inches do not return after a drink.  Lost inches stay off for around 3-6 days but if a healthy lifestyle is adopted, the inches may not return. 

Is It Right For You?  This treatment is beneficial to anyone who wants to lose inches or to detox and should be undertaken in conjunction with a sensible diet and exercise programme. A course of 3 over 6 weeks is highly recommended, followed by occasional treatments for maintenance.

What do I need to do?  Check for contra-indications. If you have sensitive skin a patch test is recommended prior to treatment. Then book. The use of a Body Scrub to remove dead skin cells and showering prior to the treatment will improve efficacy of the Slim Gel Body Wrap, or have a deluxe wrap and I will do it for you.  Do not shower immediately after the treatment as the gel will continue working for approximately 8 hours. Drink plenty of water after the treatment.
